Shrimp and Steak Tacos with Spicy Salsa Roja
Shrimp and steak go great together. They’re cooked together with salsa roja. It gives it a smokey and spicy flavor. I add a bit of shredded jack cheese, diced onions, cilantro and lime cream sauce. It’s pretty yummy.

1 1b. sirloin tips, chopped
1 tspn fresh ground pepper
1 tspn kosher salt
1 1/2 tspn garlic salt
1 Tbsp olive oil
11 large shrimp, peeled
1 large garlic clove, peeled and crushed
1/2 tspn kosher salt
1/2 lime, juiced
1 tspn olive oil
Cut shrimp into bite sized pieces. Add crushed garlic, lime juice, olive oil and kosher salt. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes
Combine the dry ingredients with the chopped steak. Stir in the olive oil, cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
Heat a large cast iron or heavy bottom pan over high heat. Add half the steak to the pan. Don’t crowd the steak pieces. Allow them to sear without stirring for 1 minute. Stir the steak and sear for another minutes. Remove the steak to a plate and repeat with remaining half of the steak. Remove second batch of steak and lower the heat to medium. Add the cooked steak, shrimp and 2 Tbsp of the salsa roja to the pan and cook stirring until the shrimp is cooked. About 3 minutes.
Heat corn tortillas on a hot griddle until soft and pliable
Place a few spoonfuls of the shrimp and steak mixture on a tortilla. Add a pinch of shredded cheese. Add a bit of salsa roja, diced onions, cilantro and chipolte sour cream sauce. Add a pinch of queso fresco. Awesome.
